Evening guys, I have an issue with a fan from a 10 yr old Halsted combie.

It's either on its way out, or over heating and cutting out, causing the fan to halt, causing the heating and hot water to stop.

Its gonna take a few days to get a replacment fan for the job as its the weekend, so do you guys know of a way I can keep the fan going until I get the replacment.

I have tried WD40, but it seems after a 40 mins or so, it cuts out, and won't fire up till its cooled down.

Can I take the bushes out of the motor and clean them, put them back and it will last the few days, or is there another way?

Do you think it is the fan that overheating, or another part of the boiler that cutting out?

Thank you in advance..

Andy......

The fan is 1 of the main safety features of the combi boiler!
I would advise you not to make any temporary repairs and try to get this fan running!
Be very careful when trying to fix something that is unfixable!

Cheers, so its best for ne to wait for the replacement...?

All the best..

Andy
