Hi guys hope someone can help me out here, i went to this boiler today the ch was not working, the dhw was working fine. checked the thermisters and they are ok. i took a reading from the pcb for the clock and only got 5.6mv it should read 230v, there is 230v going to the clock if that makes since, iam thinking it might be the pcb, any help would be great thanks

not worked on one b4, checked my laptop, there can be locking codes whichcan be cleared by powering off for 10 secs. Other than that I would go for the pcb...have u spoke to their technical?

Don't be buying pcb's when ur not sure of ur diagnosis, u said ur getting 240v @ the clock? Have u linked the clock out to prove either way, if the pcb is sending power to the clock but the clock isn't sending power back then it's pretty obvious what's at fault. Link out the clock and see what happens, it sounds like the clock to me.

thanks rory, ya i spoke with the teckie, he suggested it might be lose connection or pcb, there is no code coming up only C on the display,
i checked all the wiring and it seemed to be fine. the pcb is 140 quid
just want to try a make sure before i buy

forget halstead techies, rang them last week asking for expected volts off pcb to fan on an Ace he 35, got told, dunno, along with dunno for any other questions, gave up, bought a fan assembly and everything now working. Dont go to service a ace he 35 either, there dont seem to be any burner seals anywhere in the country!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes i linked out the clock and its fine

Thing is, if you should be getting 230v and the voltage is 5mV then the pcb just ain't sending it!! You've checked the sensors- ok and i take it all resets have been made, so there are no fuses on the board then there's nowt else but the board. As old plumber said getting pcb's willy nilly isn't always the way, but you've checked all there is.
