Hi, This is gonna sound really stupid but i was wondering what peoples views were on the easiest way to do the measurements for when you hang a rad on the wall to match up with the existing pipework. So say you went into a property took off a rad and you wanted to hang a new one on the wall with different brackets whats the best way to make the valves on the pipework that is existing match up with the new radiator????????

1. Hang new rad bracket onto rad, measure top of bracket to mdddle of bottom tapping (where valve tails screw into).
2.Measure the distance from floor to the center of the existing radiator union nut.
3. Add these together, this is the height of the top of your new bracket off the floor.
4. Measure the distance between the faces of existing valves and mark on the wall this is the cente rof the new rad,
5 Measure distance required between new brackets, mark this to either side of center line

sods law is the newer rads are allways a bit narrower or wider by a few mm and never seem to match up perfectly
