As the title say's header tank probs, Have recently taken over the lease on a pub, needs alot of work doing to it, the plumbing being 1 of them. As you can see from the pics, this was an accident waiting to happen, A few nights ago the header tank fell from the wall, pulling all the pipe work with it, as this is the unused end of the pub took a while before it was noticed, by then a big puddle lol, anyway stopped the water and managed to put back for now, re-clipped the pipes as a temp thing, but after checking the joints in the pipe work, the vent pipe has a leak from the elbow, I'm now looking to do a more permenant fix for this, as don't want anymore puddles ... I have a little plumbing knowledge, and would like to move the tank, and pipework, 0h and why i'm at it fit some valves so i can isolate the supply, the only way to shut the water of is by the mains in the car park, no internal stopcock anywhere.
Was thinking, draining down the system, and on pic 1 where the arrow is, cutting and renewing the pipe from there, We're very limited as to where we can site the tank, as no loft space in that part of the building, the only safe place would be on the other side of the wall it's on now, as that is a landing floor, so would give easy access, but lose nearly 1mtr, would this be a problem? .. Will renew all the other pipework, cold feed, etc, new tank and fittings ... The boiler is a kingfisher 2 and the vent pipe thats leaking looks like it feeds into the back of the boiler, Hopefully some kind plumbers will give me a little advice
