M MarkOil Dec 1, 2014 #2 I use the machine from HWOS but would be nice if it showed the temp on a digital display, they are bloody pricey for what they are.

L lame plumber Dec 1, 2014 #3 cant see a heat gun being an approved method, how do you now the temp the valve operates at ?
M Millsy 82 Plumbers Arms member Plumber Gas Engineer Messages 4,350 Dec 1, 2014 #4 It has to be an adjustable heat gun and you set it up using a calibrated thermostat eg my analyser to set it to the correct setting. Oftec said it is approved and grant did as well. The problem is most of them only have 2 settings so I'm looking for one that you can manually adjust.

I was going to say if I was going to pay that much I would by a proper tester.
