I've been a pipe-fitter since I left school at 16 worked with on lpg for 2 years but left to pursue an apprenticeship and I've now been a qualified H+V Engineer (Ind/Com NVQ level 3) for the last 2 years. I'm planning to move into domestic plumbing/gas as the construction industry seems to be a never ending downward spiral. I've booked up my courses to do my gas qualifications. I've got a few questions that I hope haven't been asked too much.
What tools/specialist equipment could you not live without? (I'm going to order a flue gas analyzer when I've passed)
Any advice for someone just starting up?
Do you have a set hourly rate or price per job? (fixed price boiler services etc?)
I'm already qualified to work on unvented cylinders and did my WRAS course last year. The pipe-work side of things doesn't concern me it's more the flue's and appliances.
