hi,
is it possible for my system to only give hot domestic water when the CH is on?
the reason i ask is now the weather is a bit warmer we did not have the heating on for two days and now we have no hot domestic water. if i put it on constant the boiler (out side) does not fire up. if i put the heating stst in the hall up and put the heating on constant boom the boiler fires,

a bit of background

its a worcester outside boiler (Oil)
a Barratt home 5 years old (yes my warranty is up)
I have had it serviced each year
around november 2014 we had the same problem and the guy they sent out was not a plumber / electrician
he changed the master switch in the kitchen still did not work
he then changed what he called the change over valve a square box with a little wire lever connected to a valve and a electric cable back to a box on the wall in the airing cupboard . he said the one he brought was different from the one fitted one had 3 wires (i think) and the other had 4.

he fitted it and all worked until now.

i can push the lever over or back but the boiler does not fire up. if the heating is on the water will get quite hot.

Help :32:

Needs somebody to have a look. Should have a twin channel programmer and then either s plan or y plan. You need somebody who is comfortable with heating controls. Post your location, there may be somebody close to you on here who can help.

Not if its a heatslave it wont,
If it's a Camray and never seen a service engineer it's probably close to death more information needed, but your better off getting an OFTEC registered engineer in mate.

Whys a heatslave got a motorised valve in the airing cupboard. Re read op.

Its a control issue not boiler.

You don't necessarily need an OFTEC engineer, anyone who is competent in oil will do. Although if it is a Greenstar, you might find it hard to get someone, certainly not me. Refer them to a Worcester agent.
