Hi

Just back from a call back. went to a job yesterday about no hot water from a ecom 7 tank. talked to the client about what has happened and he told me that both the boost and the 7 packed up at the same time. got a call about 6 from the sparks saying he cold not find an electrical fault, so i poped out and fitted new heating elements. the ones that came out looked in very good nick not even green or black like some aged one and these was ment to be in for about ten years, the new ones are working.

How is it possible two separte elements that have been in ten years pack up at the same time and not be a electrcal issue????

any comments would be handy

whats probably happened is one had failed earlier and no one noticed till the second one failed ive had the same with motorised valves especially the old satchwell motor open and close ones Hot one fails open and no one knows till the heating one fails

That is something i have thought about, and said so much to sparks, but the client swears blind that both went at the same time has hot water from the ecom 7 and boosts it when need, them both went yesterday

what are the chances of both going at the same time, i never heard of it

as electrics are fine i cant see any other answer, as i know nothing about electrics could there be a electrical answer than dont trip the switches
