I have a problem with heatline c24. The hot water tempreture control knob does not reduce the water tempreture. Water comes out of tap really really hot. Ive checked the knob itself and took the whole thing apart to check if the actuall spindle was ok and it seems fine. Its just not reducing tempreture.

Could it be the thermister?
Is the thermister like a little clamp on the copper pipe with 2 wires attached to it? I think its on the top left. can anyone confirm?

thanks

:welcome: saabuldin to the forum :)
To hot a water temp at this time of year shouts out to me that you have real poor water flow :) I'm guessing the water doesn't exactly cry for being turned down coz it's splashing everything around?

Im sure the water flow is good. im getting good pressure. actually When i open the tap fully. the tempreture drops. i think the water is flowing through the boiler faster then its heating the water. am i correct?

Not correct saabuldon ... slower flow picks up more heat and therefore hotter water at the tap ... faster flow means less heat picked up and colder water at the hot tap!! your complaining about too hot a water temp yeh?

Maybe I'm not reading the bottom line of your thread properly mate! What's your concern/issue ... My reading of your initial post is that the water is getting to hot, is that correct?

sorry theres 2 problems.

let me explain.

The water gets too hot and the knob dont turn it down?

the second problem is when i open the tap fully the water gets too cold. this is a problem when trying to fill the bath.

Now you're makin sense :) LOL ... Your boiler is designed to give certain criteria ... 35degC rise under certain conditions (check out your manufacturers instruction booklet) ... without testing it sounds like your boiler is acting normally ........... 24kW boilers struggle to heat water this time of year alas!!!

the tempreture doesnt change at all when i turn the knob to minimum or maximum. I havent checked the tempreture with themometer. But its too hot to use. itll burn my hands if i put them under the tap.

hot is any think above 47 degC, thereabouts Our hands are poor gauges above this!!!! So hot/cold is a fine line alas!! :)... however you say that it runs cold at the bath yeh?

Do you know if the tap that is too hot/ little control over it temperature controlled .. A "TMV" tap?

no tmvs. my bath tap is thermostatic so its ok there. its only the basin and kitchen tap that goes too hot.

it runs cold on any tap if opened full pressure. i was told by a plumber it could be the thermister which is not sensing the tempreture so the water goes hot.

Is it possible?

You need a gsr in to look at your boiler. We cannot and will not give advice on the installation or repair of boilers for your own safety.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location. If you are gsr please increase your post count to 10+ then send a pm to either Gas man or Redsaw who will then check you and then give you access to the gsr private forum.

Thank you.
