Hello all!

My names Alex, Iam studying for my NVQ Level 2 (C&G 6129 & 6089) in plumbing. I'm really enjoying my course and i'm currently ringing round all the local plumbers ofering my services for free to get the evidence and experience I need to complete the coure. I'm based in East yorkshire so if anyone on this site is in my area, i'm completely available from Wednesday - Sunday as i'm at college on Monday and Tuesday. I'm also a retained fire fighter at my local station.
Thinking ahead, I'd like to go onto Level 3 next year (gas etc) and i'm wondering if anyone knows of any companies in my area that are good to get in with? I've emailled Neville Tuckers and Binks but havent heard anything back as yet. What time of year do these companies take on trainees? I'm a bit scared to apply for british gas as i've heard they charge the earth for training. Just a bit baffled by the whole thing really...any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Very best Regards,

Alex

To be honest it is hard for companies take you on, even free. I had the same problem when i was doing NVQs. Try to find work yourself, ask your family and friends, if anybody wants to change their bathroom(labour free). That's what i did, a few bathroom instillation will be enough for your NVQ level 2. Good luck

Thanks warrington, I'll put the word out. Hopefully things will get a bit easier once i've finished the NVQ L2. :)
