Hello everyone.

I want to get into plumbing, I currently work in an office but fancy doing something practical.

I'm really looking to dip my toe in the water and do an introductory course, I'm based in Stoke so something local really if anyone knows of any good courses that would be great?

Cheers

Jane.

don't waste your money on a introductory course you only learn the basics what you can learn at home and are no use in the trade only diyer's.

if your going to do plumbing you need to do the whole nvq to get anywhere.
and then you can still get obstacles to cross lack of experience, getting a job and works very quiet at the moment compared to last yr.

if you've got a full time job stick at it.
as the grass is not as green as you think in the heating trade.

I came across this site a month ago looking for answers to a technical question. I,ve been in the trade 27 years continuously from leaving school, having worked on large sites, hospitals, universities stadiums etc, to working in domestic proerties for the last eight years. i dont know all i should after all that time. it,s difficult to see how you will cope, the most used tool in the plumbers kit of tools is his expeience you have to earn this with years of genuine blood sweat and tears making and often paying for your mistakes dearly.
An apprenticeship with a good plumber is essential, you learn more with your eyes at that age than you can ever really apreciate and the mistakes made are not yours but his, if i had advice it would be, to specialise in a small field of the game, learn it well and give a good service. good luck !!!!!!!
