Any plumbers out there answer me a quick question? Trying to fit a 1 1/2" waste pipe into a 40mm bossed connector. Can't for the love of me get it to fit after being told it'll work. Do I need to remove the collar on the bossed connector or is there a trick?

try using a bit of silicone grease as lubrication and chamfer the end of the pipe oh and welcome to the forums.

Thanks steveb, worked a treat. Had a square end on the pipe from cutting. No grease available so had to do with a bit of fairy liquid. Cheers again will be back for advice again.

some connectors are pushfit only and as such solvent wont fit you would need a Multifit

Are you talking about the rubber boss?
Never had a problem myself but as above, file the pipe down and glue it in.

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up having to file down and put a chamfer on the end of the pipe. It was a very narrow area to work in so I ended up pushing it in and it's a snug fit so no glue needed.
This is the boss I was working with and putting 1 1/2" pvc pipe into it.

If its a rubber adaptor that fits into the boss I put the rubber onto the pipe first and grease the fi s on the rubber. Works a treat
