Hi

Per the attached image, I have a pipe protruding from the floor in the kitchen where the previous owner had his cooker. I suspect that it is a gas pipe but would like confirmation.

I am a bit confused as to why there is no shut-off. Can anyone please advise if an in-line shut-off can be added?

Also, what type of connection would fit this type of pipe fitting?

Sorry for the poor picture.

Thanks in advance

Think so but best bet to get a gas safe eng out to check

Would seem likely from what you have said that it would be a gas pipe. However it is impossible to tell from a photo what the pipe could contain. As said, you need a gas safe registered engineer to test it.

Its a gas pipe That's all I can tell you anything else you must get a registered gas Fitter to do, Ring Gas Safe and they will give you some local Numbers

Ffrom what you have said it seems that you are after getting advice as to how a new cooker could be fitted to the pipe??
That advice has already been given!

this pipe and the possibility of connecting to it could raise issues for an over keen D-I-Y er but for someone qualified would not be an issue.

As alluded to above. Get a competent gsr in, don't risk your own life.
