Hi there
I wonder if any other gas engineers can help me here.
I have a customer who has asked me to quote for a replacement boiler
She has a free standing boiler at the moment with a cylinder upstairs.
There are 3 bathrooms at the property and 18 rads. She has asked if I can fit a combi in it's place that would cope with her high water demand.
The problem I'm having is that the property is in a village and the water main coming in is 14.5 lpm with a standing pressure of 3 bar.
I have been in contact with vaillant about the 937 but that needs 20 lpm.
Also even if i say about the megaflow to the customer thats only as good as the flow rate coming into the property (i think)
Any suggestions people ??????
Thank you for your time,
Regards
Gregg

go back with a fully pumped high recovery cylinder but still low pressure fed with a system boiler combi performance to ch and a good flow to the hot taps

Answer in my opinion is "no" you can not fit a combi that'll suply 3 bathrooms/showers. If she's geting adequte supply at the moment why not offer a more efficient alternative that'll equal what they already have ... i'e. condensing, conventional boiler?

I agree with gas man. Regular or system boiler and keep the tanks. Pump the showers if need be but don't think about combi.

thank you gents
i didnt think i would get a combi in there but she wanted to lose the airing cupboard but cannot see that happening.
one more question thou, looking at installing the worcester greenstar fs boiler with the fs cdi balanced flexible flue liner (as the boiler is in the middle of the property) through the chimney, has anyone installed one of these systems b4 and if so how hard is it to get in ???

Never done one but i have put probably near 1000 kopexes. Easy enough to do if you have a head for heights.
Probably safer with a chimney scaffold if you have never done this type of thing.
Your life is worth more than a couple of quid
