Hi went and quoted a job the other day which included the following:
· Box room – moving the radiator from the back wall to the wall by the room door – using existing radiator and valves.
· Spare room – adding a short pipe extension under the floorboards to ensure the new radiator will sit flush with the wall and will not pull on the down pipes.
· Hallway – fitting a new radiator onto the existing pipe work.
· Outside – fitting a new outside tap (copper) which leads back into the kitchen.
· Draining and filling the system – time to drain and fill the system and to bleed the radiators.
Materials:
· Box room – using existing radiator and valves. Additional materials – pipes etc – to be included in the Plumb-Tech quote.
· Spare room – we have bought the new radiator and we would like to use the existing valves from the old (purple) radiator. Additional materials – pipes etc – to be included in the Plumb-Tech quote.
· Hallway – we have bought new radiator and valves. We will back the extension sections if required. Additional materials – pipes etc – to be included in the Plumb-Tech quote.
· Outside tap – we will buy the tap. Additional materials – pipes etc – to be included in the Plumb-Tech quote.
· Heating system inhibiter – included in the Plumb-Tech quote.
I would normally charge about £450 but as i do not have much work on i quoted £300, customer then told me she had a quote for £160, which i thought was really low(found out guy who was going to do it works for a company and does it on weekend), anyway the guy who quoted this low price let the customer down at last minute due to too much work.
customer now got back to me and said someone has quoted £250 but cant do the work untill end of october so want to see if i can lower my quote. Normally i wouldnt but at the moment i have no work on and just going round dropping cards through peoples doors so work would be good.
what would you guys do. I also got a parking ticket when quoting just outside north london.
