Hi,

I am just finishing my CITB certificate allowing me to work with gas under supervision. I now need to shadow/work with a Gas Safe Engineer to complete my protfolio so I can go on and get my CCN1.
Is there anyone out there who will let me work with them so I can complete my portfolio? I am keen to learn and will work for free!!
I also have a full drivers license and based in SW London.

If you can help or offer advice .....please reply to my post.

Thanks for looking

Hate to break it to you .....anyone can't work with gas under supervision you need to have some sort of training/certification!

sorry billygoat i think youve been told a few porkies from somewhere, i have just finished my bpc gas foundation course and have been working with gas under supervision a year prior to this, its a known fact that you can work with gas unde the supervision of an rgi, this is what you should of been doing whilst ding your course so you can gain the evidence for your portfolio.

Andy, Spot on CCN1 requires you to work under supervision of Experienced and competent Gas Safe engineer, after off the job training by registered training establishment, You cant just be left to get on with job all day then RGI comes back at 4 to pick you up - thats a no no!!

No one has answered his questionthough. Bloody difficult building Porffolio, just completed mine an sat acs paper exams today. Best of luck pal, hoPe you find someone to help you.

the reason no one has answerd the original question is because whatever his training centre has told him is wrong, you need a rgi to begin the course with and build your portfolio as your going through the course, didnt think there was another way to do this??

and trust me ive just finished my portfolio so now how tough/stresfull/and time consuming it is

you have to understand guys finding a rgi who will be in your area is the same as saying i want to set up on ur patch get my ticket and then undercut you to get work,,hardly an inviting prospect for any engineer is it

Totally agree, hence I travelled 30 miles there an back to meet mine every day.
