Hi i have completed my gas APL training at gas logic in basildon i am looking to complete my 12 job work portfolio,so i would like to know if there is anybody willing to help me out with some work placement, not all at once, seperate days spread out is fine.or if i was able to find the work for you, would it be possible for you to over-see it? and you would recieve the payment ,i would benefit the portfolio.I live in grays so anyone in the essex area would be great.
thanks steve.

can you enlighten us what you actually require for your 12 job portfolio, and what other experience you have, ie surely you cannot simply do 12 jobs with someone then sit your ACS?

HI steven
How did you find the training at gas logic in basildon? the 12 jobs they want you todo what are they?
cheers stu

yes kirkgas that is the min 12 jobs and then you can go for you acs.
stu i found the course good, went through everything you need to know and they made sure you all understand before you moved on to the next module. at the end of your training you do like an acs test to see how you get on. like i said i am looking for some help for my portfolio, the min is 12 but would like to do 20. 4 boiler instals, 4 boiler service, 4 repairs, 4 landlord certs and 4 cookers
cheers

Ok steve how long dose it take in weeks from the start to get to gas safe and how much dose it cost????
Cheers stu

Blimey how things have changed in such a short time.
I did my ACS 18 months ago, and as I was classed as a new entrant( like yourself), I had to do a minimum of 40 jobs. All in all it took me 14 months to do these jobs, fitting them around my shift work pattern.
Doing the ACS was a doddle compared with finding someone to work with.In the end I had to go 45 miles away from my home to get someone who would take me (unpaid), along with them.
Good Luck for the future.

12 jobs??

thats ridiculous!! No wonder the ACS will be gone by the end of 2010.....

i think its that low because its hard to find anyone to help.this thread has been on about a week and none of you are willing to help out

Let us know whereabouts(exactly), you are, and you never know.
Just wondering.Did you adopt the same attitude when asking gas guys for work?
