Help with two port valve head

Please can someone advise, just had a two port valve head installed. When I turn heating and hot water on the valve lever automatically goes to manual. With the heating and hot water off I cant move the lever into manual

That’s normal and when you turn it off via the programmer it should close

Thanks for your answer, but surely the radiators should not get hot with just the hot water on, but they do because the lever goes to manual.

Are you sure it was a 2 port? Are you on a Gravity hot water system?

No have a F&E tank in the loft and its a Honeywell 2 port valve.

F&E are for heating systems, not hot water. Can you post a photo of cylinder cupboard and wiring center with wiring shown?
