High Copper = Green Hair - HELP!

Hello all, thank you for taking the time to read this.. Hope i've posted in the correct place!

Am not a plumber, but am looking for some advice!

Have recently moved into a house which has a power shower pump fitted.. but instead of being fitted to just the shower its fitted so every tap in the house including the toilet sets it off. (have put in a switch as previous owners hadn't, so now can be used when required only)

The pump is rated 2 bar.

Now the main problem is my girlfriend has blonde hair... and her hair has started to take on a very slight green tinge... Would you think i'd be correct to assume the pump is to powerful for the pipes and has cause them to erode hence high copper content in the water??

If so, whats the best solution??

It's nothing to do with the pump, sounds like copper sulphate to me and the hair problem can also occur in some swimming pools too. The easiest solution is to get your girlfriend to change her hair colour

plumbnuts states the truth, if your girlfriend is using any type of hair colouring, peroxide based, it will quite happily be attacked by the chlorine in the water, resulting in green outcome.

looks great in peroxide blonds!

joking aside. the pump instalation isnt correct, but has nothing at all to do with green hair. check your water inlet chlorine levels. maybe they have done some work on the main somewhere and just dosed it up for safety for a while!
ring them and ask.

Hi, If your supply comes via a well ? Get the water tested. if not get another girl friend, probably cheaper than employing a plumber and much more fun. Good luck

I seem to recall that on one of the other threads that one of the other contirbutors/plumbers enjoys hair dressing as well could get him round to sort it out and give your girlfreind a nice mohekan to go with the colour
