Am looking at purchasing the hive.
my current system has a pumped heating and dhw circuits both pumps are stopped and started by either a tank or cylinder thermostat.

undertand the room thermo will be replaced by the hive, but can I still use my original tank thermostat to stop and start the system when it the Hot water tank demands heat. This is of course provided the hive hot water systems is set to an on time period.

also does the hive completely shut down the boiler i think this is called "boiler interlock " when not calling for heat so to save gas.

thanks in advance,do not want to purchase the unit only to question the installer when he arrives to find out it is not suitable

regards
john

Think you need to upgrade the system first eg port valves etc

That's the idea long term but thought I would make use of the offer of fitting from bg fitted for £199.00
I'm an engineer but not skilled in this kind of work.
One problem I need to look into before fitting valves is the lication of my boiler vent pipe. Most pipe schematics show vent pipe before pump and valves.looking at my system it is difficult to see how that could be accomplished due to boiler being outside and hot water tam
Bk and header tNks being up in the loft.
Thanks for the reply

im not familiar with the hive system but i would think if it can switch a motorised valve on and off it can equaly switch a pump
re the vent location you need to move the pump etc up to the airing cupboard to achieve the layout you want but you may have problems as the heating is probably configured to meet in the garage control wise there is little difference between two pumps or motorised valves both will work
