How are you all checking an fsd on a hob? Shut the lid if there is one and shut the gas off and wait for the click? I’m unsure what the protocol is with a hob with no fsd? I hate gas haha.
As above ****, and also make sure there is an isolation valve fitted and with all the burners on full light then quickly turn one down to check it does not go out on the low/simmer setting when the boiler and other appliances are running at max rate. check each burner like this one at a time.
I just cant get my head around the fact that it has failed into a safe position and is therefore not dangerous. Buuuuut because its a safety device and its failed, its ID .
I agree but if it won't light anyway how can it be considered to be dangerous. If after 60 seconds the valve won't shut down then I'm sure it definitely is
Without getting the book out to check the wording, it may read that way. But what nonsense. Assuming the FSd is manual and not repetitive, so no continual attempt at lighting, I would not have asked. I would have noted OOA and moved on. If a boiler solenoid fails, and have to order parts, we don’t go through the ID process.
