Prior to setting holiday mode, should the daily off/on times be in the auto or off position? Many thanks

The holiday mode just suspends the program for the period you set for being away.
If you switched the daily program to "off", then it won't be able to switch things back on at the end of the holiday period!
Leave it on auto.
