Hi all,
Got an elderly customer living on her own with no heating/hot water. Her control system is a Y Plan Honeywell Smartfit 7 day jobbie. The room unit/controller appears to be fine until you touch it and then the display throws a wobbler and doesn't carry out the command of whichever button you press :( Occasionaly you can get it to create a demand briefly and fire the boiler but then drops out again !!

Clearly i need to exchange the room unit but my suppliers only have the 24hr room unit and not the 7 day........ not had much dealings with these systems so my question is will the 24hr unit operate in place of the 7day ? Been quoted 7 to 10 days to get the 7 day but need to get her back on quicker than this and i know the extra features of the 7 day are meaningless to her !

Tried to get the relevant info from Honeywell today but gave up after 15 mins on hold :(

Thanx in advance :)

From my knowledge you need the correct programmer. They don't have the "usual" amount of wires in. They must work on pulses or something.
I tried to change one for an st699 but not enough wires. Ripped it out and put a conventional y plan in.

Fit a salus , cheaper for her no need to be Honeywell

WTF is that lol ;)

Yeah ST699 was never going to work i'm afraid !! :( Smartfit is digital hence only two wires to programmer and their not 240v :)

2 wires will be the switch , is that all there's is inside then so it's volt free ?

Not everyone can afford Honeywell Stan , I've had no problems with any salus I've fitted

Tend to swap out this smart fit stuff for proper s plan when ever I have problems, makes for less problems going forward.

I prefer my danfoss, might give salus a bash for a cheaper option?

views bod?

Same again Leo I've fitted plenty and not had one problem , same with the logics and this that problems with the heat exchangers , I didn't have one

No, not purely a switch as no batteries in programmer.I need to repair what is there or else its the time and expense of new control system with new motorised valves also :(

my personal choice :
boilers WB
radiators from Mr central heating
rad valves Honeywell
motorised valves Honeywell
Programmers Honeywell
Room stats Honeywell
Wiring centres Honeywell

So basicly, nobody knows :( and Honeywell still won't answer the farkin' phone !! Guess i'll just have to try the room unit i can get and keep my fingers crossed :)

Well. I'll go to the foot of our stairs. Been using altech with no issues and the altech is a rebranded salus. Well i never :)
