Amateur - please go easy with me!!! I am after some advice please. For some time I have been having a problem with my central heating system (unvented) and have now narrowed it down to the diverter valve. Quite often if my hot water is switched on and heating switched off my radiators are hot and lately if I turn both hot water and central heating off at controller they both stay on! Sometimes only way to knock them both off is to switch the boiler off at the mains. The whole system was only installed four years ago and I have been having this problem for a couple of years on and off. Every time I thought about calling a plumber the problem seemed to resolve itself and I could go for months without any issues. However over the last week or two the problem is happening more often. I have had a look at the valve today, is the lever spring loaded or should it be easy to move position and then stay in that position? I dont have a problem calling a plumber out but given that the part is not very old I wondered if it was a simple problem to rectify or does it need more specialised help and a new valve

Would welcome any helpful advice, many thanks
