Horrendous noise from airing cupboard.

Hi. Please can anyone help. My mum has just sent me this video of her airing cupboard.
She had put the imersion heater on to warm the water for a shower when she noticed this horrendous noise. Can anybody shed any light on it ? She has BG cover but before calling them I thought I’d post here. Needles to say, the noise has frightened the life out of her. She switched it off but it continued for a while. It has stopped now though. It is a gravity fed system with a header tank in the loft. The boiler is of the British Gas 330+ type from memory and I think there is already an issue with the diverter valve? To get hot water she has to put the central heating on which is why she used the immersion instead. Thank you 🙏🏻

Not something I’ve heard of before, would certainly check the cold water storage cistern.

That’s your problem next time it makes the noise pull the plug on it / turn the elec off to it should stop it

Thanks mate, I hadn’t thought of that and I haven’t witnessed it myself but it makes perfect sense. It obviously started after she finished her shower otherwise it just dribbles out.
It stopped working 6 months ago; impeller seized and I managed to get it working again, I guess it’s time for a replacement. Thanks again 😊

If not shower pump check to see if float valve on tank is not moving up and down with the sound. also sounds like someone cutting wood with a saw.
