hot air heating system

can anyone help. i am in the process of buying a house built in aprox 1978 with hot air heating and will be installing a wet system once moved in but my question is wether or not i can remove the brick built boiler housing/cupboard as to open up the kitchen it is in or is it load bearing or will i encounter any other problems

How would we know if it was a loadbearing wall.
Better getting a builder in to have a look.
Be aware that many of these warm air units contained asbestos or were sat on asbestos sheets and the cupboard walls and door was lined in asbestos.
Get a professional to have a look.

agreed, i would expect to see asbestos somewhere on the system. Get a professional builder/heating engineer to take alook.

i went to a job where the pipework for the rads was in plasic pushed through the old heat ducts looked at treat wish id taken some pics

Sorry I know this is a old tread, but I am looking at a property with a hot air system.

Are there any problems with plastic pipes pushed though the old heat ducts provided the ducts go to where you want the new radiators and the job is done neatly? (Maybe use a pipe in duct system to product the pipe)

What do you mean? Installing a wet heating system in its place?
