Hot & Cold water not mixing

Hi,

I am a newbie here, hopefully find some help.

The hot and cold water from any of the taps (1 in kitchen and 2 in toilets) are not mixing properly in my newly rented flat. I mean they come out as 2 separate streams. They mix to an extent only when the taps are opened more, but too much water comes out and splashes everywhere.

I wonder if any small attachment could be attached at the tap mouth to mix them and make them as 1 stream.

The flat has hot water storage/boiler system with a pump attached. Whenever I open hot water tap, the pump runs. Dont know if this is causing the problem.

put the plug in the basin/sink and save water and it mixes ok then

What plug should i put? Where can i get them?

youll probably find your taps arent true mixers,so the only way would to be to stick on one of granny's old platic spouts. By plug i mean stop the water running down the drain out of the basin!

Thanks mate. I will find out about the plastic spouts.

I do use the plug to wash dishes. But sometimes you need to use the water stream. Anyways thanks for the reply.
