Hello there!

So unfortunately have noticed a leak coming through the kitchen ceiling and upon removing the bath panel have found that the hot tap is leaking underneath. There is limescale all over the pipe so not sure if it is still useable or what the best way to proceed is. Can i still attempt to tighten the nut? I am currently doing my level 2 in plumbing so hoping to fix myself! Do I have to cut and replace the pipe? Are the flexi hoses any use? If we don't replace the floor and ceiling is it likely to fall through even if the leak is fixed?

Thanks in advance!

fibre washer in the tap connector prob as failed time for a new one and you dont need to cut any pipe work

will give you an idea

and should be fine if there not too much water on it

unlikely, but a quick tweek might work, but have a washer ready if it doesnt and be aware how to isolate the HW before you give it a go

Hi Rachel, 25 & level 2, So you know water flows down, trace the highest point of the limescale to find the problem point, isolate water and investigate. As for the ceiling & floor let it dry out first and then see what you have to work with.

As above, know how to isolate the water first, try quarter turn on the leaking nut, but most likely a new fiber washer is needed,
as for the ceiling and floor, what's the floor made of and how bad was the leak?
