Hi all,

I've just fitted a new pump on an old gas back boiler system and I was just wondering how long it should take for the radiators to heat up. I'm back there first thing in the morning to test everything but do any of you have any experience with how long it takes for heat to come through? The hot water tank was heating up fine earlier but nothing appeared to be coming down the 15mm pipe to the pump (I put the pump in with the same flow as the old one of course.)

Also, because there's no loft space in the flat I'm wondering where the header tank is! The hot water tank is a 2 piece thing so I'm assuming the top part is for refilling the hot water - would this have a (very) small header tank for the heating? Please excuse my ignorance - 5 years in and this is the first time I've worked on a system containing one of these. Apologies again but I don't even know what they're called. If you can direct me to a website where I can read up on these tanks I'd be very grateful.

Thanks again and stay warm all!
