Hi, just wondering an average labour cost of replacing a hot water cylinder?

There are some jobs which do fit into a category and this is one of them. I cannot tell you an exact price but this is how I do it - (I do this type of thing for my business alot as often others do the work I price)

The size of the cylinder is important and type. However it is ALWAYS a days work never less - where does a plumber go at 3pm - no other job. The connections are often bigger than 22mm - not cheap.

THe job is often awkward - always one man - so

1x day rate + £100 bits + cylinder + running around to get stuff.

and dont forget the scrap value of the cylinder and ripped out pipe and fittings - all bonush

I did one for £825 (from memory) and it took 1½ days. Did another for about £450 and it took a day. It wouldn't surprise me if I do one this or next year and it takes 2½ days and costs £1,200. (Prices include labour, VAT, etc.)

Not seen one yet, but I can't imagine they can all be completed within two days. How about a pair of unvented cylinders being removed and fitting a new unvented in with no easy path for the tundish/drain because it's in the middle of a large house?
