Hi all just been to my sisters to price up a shower, she has only got a bath at the moment. tried the hot water tap on all outlets and the flow is poor tried the cold and its gushing out. the boiler is a combi 10 year old my thoughts is the heat ex is blocking up. its a council house so they probably won't want to change the boiler could it be anything else. many thanks Dom

just to clarify I'm not going to try and fix this problem I'm just curious to what it is she's going to ring up the council tomorrow to try and get someone out.

It may be a small output boiler (like an Ariston 23mffi) and will only give you around 9 l per min
Can you measure the flow and check, other than that, start with cleaning the inlet filter if you can access it without removing the cover
What boiler is it

im not looking to fix the problem just wondering what it was. and I'm not sure if she's asked to be honest could always take it out if she moves. she's lived there 20 years now so cant see her moving any time soon
