Its been six days now and still there is no water coming out of my hot taps. Iv had a plumber out christmas eve and he said he thought it was just that the pipes are frozen and to keep the house warm. Its like a sauna and still nothing. Occassionally there is a trickle and drips but thats about it. Iv looked outside but the only pipes i can see are ones that I think are gas pipes so presume all the hot water pipes are within the bungalow. Iv got the hot taps permantly open. The tempreture outside had risen considerably and I am now thinking it may be something else. I cant follow the pipes in the attic but those I can reach have had hairdryers, fan heaters on them but nothing. Any advice would be welcome.

Its getting beyond the ridiculas now. I thought, maybe now iv got a airlock, so went to mixer tap in bathroom sink, closed both hot and cold taps, put hand over the tap outlet to stop water, the idea being that when i put on the cold tap it would be forced through and release airlock and let hot water through. I put back on the hot water tap, then the cold, and yes i did get water through the hot tap but not the one in the sink, the one in the bath. I let this tap run for a bit, turned it off and then back on again, and water is now coming through it, so god knows what the problem is.

Dont know if its of any use but we must have had several airlocks after the thaw because my son has just done the tap thing using the washing machine hoses and low and behold, hot water. Yippee.

Yeah i went to a job yesterday and there hot water was airlocked. Tank in loft had emptied all water then refilled after a pipe had thawed leaving an air lock. If you have a combi then that wont be the reason.

I dont have a combi but I think there were several airlocks because it took several attempts to get it sorted. It just makes you appreciate your hot water, having cold water helps but there is nothing like having a hot bath.
