Hi Guys/Gals,

I have an old copper tank and and old Glow-worm Fuelsave F boiler. Everytime i go to do the dishes or fill the basin with hot water in the kitchen or upstairs in bathroom, the water comes on a little then after 10-15seconds goes to a trickle.

Now a friend of mine said i would need to get my system power flushed and that would solve problem. I have since learned (i think!!) that it could probably be a valve at the copper tank which is full of gunk for a better word and being like that stops all hot water getting pushed round system thus causing air locks and lack of water??

Could one of you techy people give me some advice on this and save me some money!!.

Thanks

Scott.

As said could be air lock,or gate valve not open correctly, however if no one touched for a while should be ok,or if all cold from mains and hot only using tank ,could be a blocked ball valve and tank not filling correctly

One thing for sure power flushing system is not going to help the siduation, completly differant side of the system....hopefully :(

imho

Tank is filling properly as i have checked it, and i have also tried to unblock the air lock by puting cold/hot water on and trying to force the pressure through, only on the kitchen taps.

Do you suggest i try this with the washing machine hot/cold pipes?

Any other suggestions??

Thanks.:(

Hi People,

Thanks for the responses so far on this topic. I will try the advice given to me.

Do you think that this is the best course of advice? As i am wary that if it is an air lock it will just come back again, and i dont want to keep hauling my washing machine out every week to release air from system.

Somebody mentioned it could be stopcock at copper tank which could be blocked???

Thanks.

hi Scotty. Is it a hard or soft water area? Ask other householders if they have experienced problems. Does your kettle scale up? This may give you an idea as to what your dealing with. It could be rough plumbing, or a bit of flotsam in the CWSC.insulation or an old sock. The list is endless. Good Luck
