Just happen to read the instructions on a reel of polyplumb pipe and noticed that you cannot use a h.w.s return on the system if you use plastic pipe. They cover themselves by adding that domestic systems are not allowed to use it either. I"ve installed loads of systems in plastic with a return and so far (touch wood) have "nt had any problems. Are polyplumb being serious or just want a warranty get out clause.

Could it be because of issues with prolonged temperature exposure

I know that some manufacturers are saying you cannot expose their pipe to >65*c

I'm sure it's something to do with the water regulations and the fact that the pipe hasn't been tested for this application. I assume the cost of testing is prohibitive in relation to the number of incidences where people want to use it.
