I have an old (my flat was built in the '80s), rectangular boiler (the shape of the box it's housed in is rectangular, I assume the actual boiler inside is also rectangular but perhaps not) which I recently moved out of it's airing cupboard and up into my loft. I'm still getting hot water ok but I imagine it's taking a lot longer to heat and taking a lot more energy, also by the end of the day on cold days it's noticeably cooling down.
I assume that there is insulation already within the casing but are there *rectangular* insulation jackets available for hot water tanks? I found some for cold water but not hot. Any recommendations for how I can top-up it's insulation?
Thanks
