I have to change my parents hotwater cylinder but i've come across a problem with the feed coming from the water tank to the hwc. There is another 22mm pipe coming from the feed and disappears under the floor boards. I've managed to sort out the remaining pipes and there respective roles but this one is baffling me.
Secondly, another problem. I need to drain the entire system including the coil in the the hwc but there is no stopcock or drain valve on the boiler. I've also noticed that there are two pumps running in tandem which i've not seen before. The boiler is oil fired but i can't see that making any differance to the pipe work.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

the second 22mm is more than likely a direct feed to the cold tap on your bath. try blocking this pipe at the tank and see if the water goes off at the bath.
Unfortunately you are going to have to drain the heating,

2 pumps is it a Grundfos on one base with 2 pump heads?

That would mean the cold water tap on the bath would be gravity fed? I'll try your advice and see what happens.
I'm not quite sure what you mean regarding the pumps. One pump is a grunfos, the other is a different make but they both come from two seperate pipes from different sides of the boiler.
