was driving my van round a local housing estate in birmingham today at around 3pm when i came round a corner to see water flying 20ft into the air from what looked like a stop tap cover on the pavement (and a few bemused contractors just standing there wondering what to do!!)
Now....me being thought that this would be a real emergency for severn trent water and wouldve thought they'd be straight out to this one....but have just been told that water fall is still going on!!!! how bad is that!!! ok they may be a bit busy but jeez.....its flooding the whole estate!!

some times they have to leave leak running due to position on the grid shutting down may affect a large area they may need time to arrange water supplies for vunerable people before they can tackle it or need to give notice to industries that cant function safely if water was suddenly shut down
its also possible they dont have stock of necessary parts you cant pop in b and q for a thirtysix inch coupling and a couple of tees
although i also agree that their robbing f...rs who do as little as possible for their cash

I will always refuse to pay for water. Reasons?
1- Its included in rates
2- Water is a public commodity not a business, like Hospitals and Schools
Third and final...... Was working in an area and had noticed water coming from a nearby house "presumed abandoned" , not 1, not 2 but 3 plumbers couldn't stop the leak nor the "master Plumber, ****ing council, then i notice and old man standing and staring, ladders steps hacksaw and a cap end, 5 minutes job done, *******s didn't want to get wet.
