How does this tap fixing undo?

There should be a screw or stud bar going from the chrome circle up into the tap body. Just undo it. Then you can lift the tap up and then undo the flexis after you have turned them off. centralheatking

With the absence of the usual rusty threaded rod & nut and no flexi`s showing in the photo I too would like to know.

Cant make out what that smaller piece is doing up by the tension ring so thinking perhaps it is to do with the answer?
