How long to hang a boiler?

It needs an lpg kit fitting, all the pipework is done except for the gas which needs a 2 meter run in 22 mil. regulator is on the tank in the garden.
Only one radiator and the condense pit has been dug and ready to connect.

So basically, the gas pipe run , connecting to pipework f+r and hot and cold so no other pipework to do except gas, flew through wall 300mm away, lpg jets fitting and filling and firing it all up. The jig is already on the wall and correctly positioned.
Ive been quoted for 7 hours work at 55 quid an hour. Ive also been told it could be done in a couple of hours.
What do you guys think?

I'd reckon on a day's work to have it done properly. Round here (very rural) the day would cost £150-£175 (say around £25 an hour) but you'd be charged for a day if it went on past about 3:30pm. There would also be say £50 for materials.

If you try to buy everything then there's no mark up so the labour would increase. Also be prepared that if you've bought the boiler then the installer will not want to warrant or guarantee it and will pass the responsiblity on to you.

If you're wondering about mark up, one reason is to increase the day's wage. Say there's a 10% mark up on the boiler from the price we buy it that is for sake of argument £80. Fit 10 boilers in a year and that's an extra £800 we make. Good earner eh?

Not so hasty though because if a boiler needs replacing and we can't get a free replacement then we have to pay for this ourselves. So you can look on the mark up as being insurance. If you've bought the boiler then this is the reason why you might not find the installer happy to carry out warranty work.
