dear all, landlord asks me to remove the gas fire, i am trying to cut the gas pipe under the floor boards and add a stop, but then i found it is a 20mm steel pipe, looks very old and the surface is not smooth, what can i do to handle it? really annoying...

cheers in advance

Screw the pipe out from the next fitting / socket and screw in a 20mm plug.

Hi bluesky,

Can you not find a joint near the fire and undo it?? Then you would just need a threaded cap. You its 20mm, would it not be 1/2" Steel

Croppie,
have you been away, it seems a long time since we,ve seen that amazing smile of yours, welcome back. stani

If you cant find a joint, hire a set of pipe threading dies (£25 + vat a day from HSS), cut the pipe and fit either a 1/2" cap or a socket and plug (About a quid from BSS). An hours job matey

the pipe to the fire must be smaller just remove the restrictor and cap and push under the floor and do TT

cut pipe and fill with sticks like s**t then bag tie a rubber glove over it.

think its a long time since had tears in me eyes laughin top bloke lol

mrplumberman and metaldust9 have been trolling the forum with full intentions of winding you members up to satisfy their childish humour..

We will not stand for this behaviour and as a result i have removed their accounts to stop them doing this further.. A warning to others.. the mods have enough to do without having to clean up after childish kids as well..
