The attached photos show the 41 year old TOPLISS shower mixer!!
It is almost impossible to adjust temperature due I think to worn pistons on the inside - the things that control the flow of hot and cold water. No spares are available - there is a TOPLISS company in NZ but no spares.
Given the very short pieces of inlet pipes and my desire to minimise damage to the wall tiles, can anyone suggest a replacement unit that might work?
Or any advice on an alternative approach would be appreciated.
Ger.

Try the shower doctor.

Topliss in the UK later became Topliss Rothwell, before going bust. IIRC there was then a company called Rothwell which sold the spares, and I think they were eventually bought by Sirrus.

I think the shower in the pic is either the Phoenix or the S4, but its all a very long time ago. Does it have two little white plastic quadrant shaped cogs under the knob?

edit. Nope - having looked more carefully at the pics, I think it predates either Phoenix or S4, although it looks like the grandaddy of that range.

I doubt that you will find parts anywhere, I have checked showerdoc for you with no joy. The Bristan Rio is adjustable for feeds from below but you need to check the distance between pipe centres to make sure you can do a swap.

Thank you Ray for that trip down memory lane :)

Thank you Paulus for the check on showerdoc and for the suggestion. Will do the measurements.

I did email Topliss in NZ in the hope that their TB-10 is a direct replacement.
But NZ is a long way away!!
