How to stop saniflo toilet water running into toilet bowl?

Hi there, can anyone give me any advice?
We have a Saniflo system in our understairs loo.

The saniflo itself is working fine, but there is a constant trickle of water going into the loo bowl, hence the saniflo comes on every ten mins or so to pump the extra water away.

I have no knowledge of plumbing whatsoever so I called Saniflo engineers. They advised this is a plumbing problem so I need to call out a plumber.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any advice greatfully received, thanks.

Morning. I have moved your post to the correct part of the site. It sounds like either the inlet valve isn’t shutting off correctly or the syphon is passing water.

Yes it won’t be a problem with the Saniflo it will be a problem with the mechanics of the toilet

If you can, remove the cover of the cistern. Then:

1. If the water is above the level of the overflow, the inlet valve needs repair or replacement. As your overflow is running into the bowl, it is an internal overflow. There will be some sort of opening in the flush valve (the one which operates when you flush). Not so easy to find, but if the water level is a good bit above the level line marked on the back of the cistern, excess water may
2. If not 1., then water may be getting past the seal at the bottom of the flush valve. You can normally remove the flush valve by rotating it slightly, normally about 1/8th of a turn, anti-clockwise viewed from above. It will have a flattish rubber washer, about 40 mm across, one the bottom. See if this needs cleaning, or if deteriorated, try turning it over. It my need to be replaced.

With water constantly trickling into the pan it can only really be the cistern inlet letting by and overflowing into the pan or the flush valve washer (if it has one) letting by into the pan.

RPM, I certainly would not question your knowledge on Saniflo installations and you are our "go to" guy for anything Saniflo or waste pump wise but the OP stated "there is a constant trickle of water going into the loo bowl"

How could this be the fault of the Saniflo unit?

In post #5 I said it depends which model of Saniflo it is as I can think of three where it could be an issue with the Saniflo. Out of the three two have pretty standard flush valves which a good guy could replace but it is not straight foward, the other model has an electronic solonoid valve to release water into the pan which the average plumber hasn`t got a hope in hell of fault finding plus a faulty NRV could also give the same problem. For once I really need a photo or two to advise.

Ahh, I see! I am thinking just of a saniflo to take waste water away. There are other systems incorporating the whole lot, toilet cistern inlets and all?

Most people do Stig and yes there has been in the past but at the moment there is only the one and that doesn`t have a cistern as such.
