Can someone please advise me how to test a room stat with a multimeter to eliminate it from a situation where the rads are getting hot contiuously.

Easiest way to check a r/stat for this fault is to isolate the mains power, remove stat cover, remove incoming live from it's terminal. Let the system run and see what happens.


Most likely cause of this fault however is (if it's a system boiler setup) a faulty 2port or 3port valve/motörhead.
