How to use a multimeter to test gas components

Please could you give me a quick overview on how to use a multimeter to test correct operation of boiler components, e.g.
Fans
Pumps
Thermistors
Thermostats
APS
Gas valves
Etc.

Some boiler manufacturers do courses for this sort of thing, Ideal do one "essential electrics" and usually free

Its a cool app but costs 24.99 as I used to have it . It's called eboiler fault finding app but when I rebooted my phone I was asked to pay it again , which I didn't .

Fan - if it's getting voltage (check in book if ac/dc) and it's not spinning oops new fan.

Check resistance through coil. Check resistance to earth should be more than 4m

Pump check Volts (ac 97.5%) if Volts and no spin - new pump

If no Volts new pcb

Check live to earth resistance should be more than 1m

Make sure you've all the proper probes n attachments as makes testing easier if awkward places or terminals are really small.
