Why is is that people expect everything to be quick easy and cheap :( It doesnt matter that it is them that have ruined there home screwing boards down or flexis in concrete floors as soon as you step foot in the place its your fault!

Im going to take a couple of days off as its getting beyond a joke

Don't let it eat you up too much mate. It's just another day.

Try and explain what you can to the customer, but don't loose your rag with them, you're better taking a couple of days off if that's what you need to go back with a fresh mind, though make sure your mind is fresh when you go back.

All the best mate

Hi Winston,
do,nt let the buggers get you down

:eek:Make sure you turn your phone off as well, you may loose a job but better that than your sanity:rolleyes:

You could put a stopper up the soilpipe and smile while your phones ringing off the hook for you to come around.LOL!!!!!

Don't sweat it Winston .. plumbers have always got the rag eng.. picky customers .. screwed by suppliers.... not paid by builders/customers .. shafted by inspectors .. and in general shat upon by the public due to poor image caused by cowboy plumbers dragging down the trade :mad:

Calling yourself a plumber and being a plumber is two entirely different things.

From your posts it is obvious that you care about what you do ... all the carp is part of the deal ... you have to put up with it and move on to the next ... Eventually you will have heard it all and develop a sense about who to work for and who not.

Take it easy and keep up the good work.

:D

Thanks guy suppose hacked of that my joint for the niagra house hold didnt seal presume as it was on a wet joist. Difficult really when everything in the house is wet.

Its just the customers heating wasnt working correctly after I had finished not that I know it was working before I got there. Though I do admit I had drain the CH down as initially I and the customer had thought that is where the Niagra falls was coming from. It worked out it was the hot supply to bathroom and kitchen.

I can only presume that the pumps knackered or sytem is sludged up as it was my pet hate 8mm micobore. Anyway feel better for a beer last night something to eat and a good nights kip.

Oh joy had a couple of days off feel a lot better to tackle plumbing and customers again.

whenever someone even mentions that they want a cheap job or how poor they are, tell them you will do it as cheaply as possible and then add 15% on top of your normal price, that way when you have to chase for the money, you have already covered it. I call it the embuggerance charge, it dont half make yer smile.

winston .middle of the night water coming through ceiling your a hero ,come round in morning with bill your a pirate.keep calm but be firm with people,if its not right dont do it.be honest with people if they can not see your doing your best for them thats their problem, allways explain to people what is wrong and how it can be fixed.the trouble is there are to many untrained or part trained people in the game now you will see more and more poor plumbing, keep your standerds up and you will be ok

plumbing would be a great job if it wasnt for the customers

Hi. In time gone by i employed people to cover emergency work. One comes to mind, a client wrote, singing the praises of the guy i sent to repair a leak on a 1/2" C/H pipe in a screed. He spent 2 days chopping about and drinking tea, in an area that had already been identified as being the problem. I was jumping, thinking this is coming to a fortune and he anit gonna pay. ( I book it as 3 hour max ) Vat was at 8 percent at the time. Not only did he pay, but the "plumber" was clueless and had to go. I never learnt from it., but you may. Good Luck
