I got a job - finally!!!!

had 2nd interview for a job today, seemed to go ok and they gave me the job at the end!! well chuffed gonna be working as a biomass service and installation engineer. can't wait. boss seems sound, role looks dead interesting. I'm so so chuffed.

Just done my H005 Biomass course, came back today after a week away doing it.

company down in chippenham, small outfit but seem to take a real pride in doing a good job, and giving an honest service. what more could I ask for? how was the biomass course sambot? learn much? is it much different?

hah just come back from Chippenham for the course at the Windhager factory. One of the best courses i've been on actually, I already have H003 and H004 but you can do the H005BR if you haven't got the above. Covered a lot of stuff, including heat loss calc's (again..) accumulator tanks (the big ones) sizing etc etc

I went to hetas as all the courses I have done through them are excellent, even though the BPEC Biomass course is offered 25 miles from me (Devon)

Looking to go MCS on it, I have a mate who works for a biomass company and I was close to getting a job with one of the larger ones earlier in the year (hence booking the course) but things have changed so i'm going to offer it myself amongst other things. (new venture)

I'd definately recommend it and if your working down there then you'll more than likely go on that course which I would recommend to anyone.

Just to add as the edit buttons on holiday again, also fuel store sizing, fire regs, feeder mechanisms, fuel types, boiler designs, controls etc etc

Definately something I could get into, very interesting.

The most interesting part was wondering how you get a 750kg boiler into someone house!

mate, I can't wait. I'm sat here with a book about planning and installing bioenergy systems (and me first beer for 4 months ), and I'm hoping this is gonna be the start of something new to me. and I'm well up for the challenge. can not wait. heard about windhager before, from me old apprentice, what's their stuff like?

SimonJohns, not sure the course was run by surefire who are consultants, I meet the blokes in the office for a chat etc but i'm awful with names, was he really tall like 6' 7"?

Windhager stuff looks good, not sure what it compares to with other stuff, I would say it's like the vaillant of the biomass world. Your looking at about £20k for a 15kw boiler store and buffer fitted though !

The factory is moving from today though, we played with the boilers yesterday and they were ripped out today to go down the new unit which isn't far away.

If your like me you'll enjoy it, just hope I can generate some work and get involved myself.
