Do you actually know what you are doing?!
No offence but if you are safe to work with gas, the inspector will know it. They don't try and catch you out, more to find out if you know what you are doing or not.

If they discover an individual is completely clueless after finishing a 1 week course in Bosnia and having no idea what they are doing at all , they will return and give them some 'training' just to make sure they do pass and get on to the inscrutable gas safe register..

i know what i am doing i am gas safe register but no body told me someone will come and check my work which is there is none.. i told them i dont have it he said i will come your do some test.. which is i want to no what test

Hi Serg, he will want you to demonstrate a few things, probably in your house. a TT, gas rate, etc. He'll ask questions on basic safety, ventilation etc. Make sure you have your continuity bond (and take it out the bag). If they are comfortable with your answers then everything will be fine. If you don't know something they ask then say so but tell him you know where to find out.

So you can do it in your own house if not got many customers, or customers are too busy to let you do it there?

yes thas i have been told if customers are busy or u didnt do any work u can tell them they will inspect you in your house

Didn't know that, but to be fair I have only been registered 3 days... lol

main thing is he will ask you to do a tightness test. What is the permissable drop etc
If you have a combi boiler he will ask you to gas rate it and probably take an inlet pressure reading. make sure you isolate the gas at the boiler!!
Just dont be too nervous and relax

I dunno, is it just me, but if you apply the same scenario to say, a surgeon, would you be confident to know that he was crapping his pants over his first appraisal... ? Evidently, to become Gas Safe registered you must first be deemed competent..........a subsequent inspection should therefor be incidental.......at what point then is anyone 'safe' to work with gas.........
