Good for you simon im the same I said the other day if I had to do it all again I would still be a plumber.
As for where now its a difficult one if you feel you need more then just being a sole trader then limited and taking in man power is the way but we all know the risks and stresses that brings. My aim is to have a small fleet of vans out working and an office/ showroom with my name on the door nothing big but just something that I can sit back in years to come and say I did that
i despise plumbing now loved it when i was younger working on commercial/industrial jobs all the lads were good crack . Unfortuneately its changed alot for the worse to many back stabbing idiots on site now ,to many clip board office idiots trying to justify the 30 grand a year positions now the clerk of works has gone .
On top of that two many governing bodies and certs for just about everything , pricing has become a rat race now custs screwing you down on jobs where it becomes not worth doing .
Had a convo other day with staff down plumbcenter where they said if they had a 1000 reg plumbers come through the door each month prob only 200 are any good . Says it all about industry imo !!
Just spent a night setting out a quote for a OF boiler swap to sealed combi. Went in as cheap as I could. Got an email back this morning saying its between you and an other. but they are £300 cheaper. Is there anything you can do with the price?
