ideal boiler, unvented, heating but no hot water. Two Port Valve??

A relative has called me, stating she has an ideal boiler (not got the model yet) on an unvented system that is firing for heating but not hot water. Im thinking two port valve, anyone got any input, before I go there and tell her to fit a combi as I understand them better lol, I have got G3 but never used it in anger.

what happens when you call for HW?

Might be the cylinder stat, you don't want to do a drain down and change the two port if its not that.

Check 240v coming from the programmer to the cylinder stat common
Check you've got voltage coming from the cylinder stat to the 2-port.
Check resistance of of the synchron motor (usually about 2.3k ohms)
Check if the motor has hit the switch to send power down to the boiler.

just go to the wiring center and check you have 240V on the Grey White/Brown (Cant remember what colour it is on 2 ports) and orange. If no 240V on orange but 240V on the other 2 its the 2 port. If no 240v on White/Brown then check the other wires from the cyl stat make sure you have power to and from.

It shouldnt take long to pinpoint the fault I always start from the valve as the wires are the easiest to identify.
