I serviced an Ideal Classic FF280 recently. Following this the client has complained of what sounds like explosive ignition. If I am right, the pilot light is lit following which the main burner valve opens and the gas should ignite smoothly. Could it be that the pilot light is too small to catch the main burner gas immediately? Any suggestions appreciated.

check if the screws in the burner manifold are tight prone to coming loose and causing this fault

Thanks, I will try this and let you know. Appreciate the quick response.

If the burner isn't fully home, this will cause the problem.

I refitted burner and problem sorted. Thanks all for your help!
